Setting Up Workshop Tracks: Your Feedback is Needed!

As we reach out to conference presenters and community organizers, we have been reviewing how people organize their thinking about technology and organizing. Right now we have 5 tentative track titles:1. Amplification; 2. Net Activism; 3. Networking & Crowd Sourcing; 4. Organizational Development; 5. Issues & Technology. Your feedback about each of these will help determine the final list. Here's a summary of the typologies that we considered.

This includes all those activities that organizers use to get the word out and to scale up their connections to each other. This could include using maps to represent the geographical reach of their membership or communications systems to reach large numbers of members...

The techniques that we use to engage the people with the power to give us what we want; advocacy techniques, campaigning, etc.

How we connect with our constituency and involve their knowledge and preferences in our work.

Tools and techniques we use to be more efficient and to grow our organizations including fundraising, donor management, databases, collaboration, etc.

We have identified the following substantive areas of organizing that correspond with our prioritizing of racial and economic justice: (1) Labor; (2) Community (Communities of Color, Low Income; Housing; Immigration); (3) Gender & Sexuality; (4) Youth and (5) Media.

Please use this area to provide general feedback and suggest other topics not covered by our exist list. We will take this input into account as we move forward.
